So, I happened to come across Delta Goodrems new film clip for 'In This Life' while channel surfing the other day. I'd heard the song on the radio a couple of times and my understanding of the song was that it was about being a stronger person after all your trials, or particulary in her case her battle with cancer and fight with the UK media over that westlife singer who's most probably gay anyway.
Now, I'm not really a Delta fan in any way, but I appreciate what she does for the market she's in. The video looks like a portmans add, it features her in about 9 white (or surprise surprsie black) outfits and I think the biggest section of action in the film clip is when she moves to sit down on a red stool; I counted at least 24 hair flicks and 11 different chairs, for those who wish to contest this please, be my guest.
I just don't think who ever came up with the idea for this film clip (I'm sure Delta wouldn't get a say) really had no idea what the song was about and just wanted to feature Deltas new mane of hair being flipped about a trillion times. I think what would of been more effective is to actually show she can play an instrument and have her doing that while some sort of ballad coming of age esque story was going on inbetween in stead of a double clothing / furniture advert that runs for three minutes. Unimpressed.
