Food for thought

Held on Saturday 27 October, the Sydney Food and Wine Festival is in its 17th year and is expected to be bigger and better than ever.

Sydney’s Hyde Park is once again set to be transformed into a hive of good food and wine. “Sydney Food and Wine Fair is a brilliant institution, and its unwavering popularity is a testament to the quality of the food and wine on offer, as well as the efficiency in which the event runs – which this year promises to be the best ever,” says Peter Gilmour of Quay Restaurant.

Food and wine aren’t all there is to the fair, however. The Sydney Food and Wine Festival is the official fundraiser for the AIDS Trust and net proceeds from coupon sales are used for the care and support of those living with HIV/AIDS.

“It is also an extremely important platform to raise much-needed funds and awareness in continuing the fight against HIV/AIDS, and the support of such high profile names such as Guillaume Brahimi, Martin Boetz and Sean Moran continues as a great show of strength and commitment to the cause,” Gilmore adds.

Also coming to the fair are fine diners such as Guillaume at Bennelong, Quay,Sailor’s Thai, Otto, Buon Ricordo, Flying Fish, Lo Studio, Sean’s Panorama and Longrain to name a few.

Keeping the fun and festivities rolling well into the afternoon, two entertainment zones will crackle with live performances, DJs and special guest stars, all woven together by MC Miss Claire de Lune.
